Tuesdays

  • Man doing a yoga lunge

    Men's Tuesday Yoga Tune Up®

    9:00 - 10:00 am

Through an accident of fate this beginner/intermediate class evolved into what we jokingly call “men’s competitive yoga.” While there is no competition we focus on flexibility, strength, self-massage and release techniques.

    Tuesday Morning Chair Yoga

    11:00 am to 12:00 pm

You may have movement limitations, but that doesn't mean that you can't do yoga. This class is designed for students who have a hard time getting up and down from the floor. We do stretching, strengthening, self-massage, breathing exercises and meditation.

Wednesdays

    Mindful Yoga

    10:00 to 11:15am

Suitable for all levels this class combines traditional Hatha Yoga with self-massage, strength-building, breath techniques, and relaxation. Class is held at St. James the Apostle Church Hall in Sharon, Ontario.

    Wednesday Evening Yoga Tune Up®

    5:00 to 6:15 pm

Yoga Tune Up is a fusion of yoga, functional fitness, self-massage and a therapeutic approach that combines the best of the yoga tradition with modern exercise science. It can help you identify body "blind spots," relieve aches and pains, reduce stress, enhance breathing, and improve your posture. You can start where you are and gradually build your strength, balance, and flexibility. Suitable for students who can get up and down from the floor with ease.

Thursdays

  • Cat doing a Downward Dog

    Relax, Rebuild, Rebalance

    Thursdays 9:30am to 10:45am

A beginner/intermediate class designed to awaken body awareness, build strength and flexibility, and incorporate relaxation techniques designed to soothe your soul. Getting up and down from the floor is required.

This class is full at the moment. Please contact me if you wish to go on the waiting list.

Private Yoga Sessions

Give yourself the gift of a customized session tailored to your needs.

  • Are you unsure if you can manage a regular yoga class?

  • Are you struggling with your at-home yoga or meditation practice?

  • Dealing with an injury or movement limitation?

  • Are you an avid golfer, runner, or cyclist looking for a yoga routine catered to your sport?

Whether you are a yoga newbie or a seasoned practitioner, a private lesson can be a great way to move forward.

Private Sessions allow a much more individualized, catered approach than a class can. You will receive sixty minutes of targeted one-on-one instruction that can reveal areas where your body is holding tension, discover weak or overly active muscle groups, and increase awareness of breathing patterns that can contribute to stress.

Together we can identify which poses or styles of yoga are most beneficial for your body and personality type, and you can take away specific recommendations and homework. Bring along a notebook and a camera.

I offer several options and prices:

Therapeutic Sessions:

Designed for students who have ongoing problems with injuries, back pain, arthritis, MS or fibromyalgia, these sessions help you to explore ways to maximize your mobility, increase your strength, and improve your body awareness without increasing your pain.

Yoga for Anxiety or Depression:

All of us get anxious and depressed sometimes. These sessions draw from the wisdom of both body and mind practices derived from yoga philosophy, psychology, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. As a trained therapist and a meditation teacher I can blend the best techniques from both east and west to help you cope better, sleep better, feel better and generate a plan for moving forward.

Topic-centred Sessions:

Great for athletes, yoga teachers and teachers-in-training, these sessions can be based around a specific sport, specific needs (e.g. an inversion-based class), or a specific medical question (e.g. which postures are appropriate for someone with a metal rod in their spine).

Registration:

Contact us about which class you would like to register for. Jenn or I will get back to you with the price. You can join mid-session if there is space and the price will be pro-rated.

Registration is not complete until your payment has been received.

Payment:

Payment options include cash, cheques made payable to Jackson Yoga, or email money transfer to Elaine. (Contact us for instructions).

If you wish to pay by credit card contact Jenn at jacksonyogajenn@gmail.com

Cancellations:

If you cancel more than 7 days prior to a workshop or session there is no penalty except an administration fee (20% 0f price). You can choose a refund or request that your payment be applied to a future event.

For cancellations 6 days or less prior to a workshop or session an administration fee (20% of price) will be applied and the balance will be transferred to a future event. (Must be used within one calendar year).

After a session has started refunds will not be given, however if you are unable to continue the session due to extenuating circumstances you may transfer to another session if available. This will be granted on a case-by-case basis.

If you are unable to attend a class for personal reasons the class will not be refunded.

Inclement Weather:

In the rare situation where a class is cancelled due to inclement weather or illness of the instructor you will either be refunded for that class or offered a “make-up” class.

In the event of a cancellation you will be contacted by phone or by email at least 2 hours prior to the start of the class or workshop.

Medical Concerns:

Please inform us prior to the beginning of class of any injuries or ailments.

This will allow us to be mindful of your needs and to suggest proper adjustments and modifications.
